  • All Maaki Bars are crafted from strong, weather-resistant galvanised steel, designed to withstand Aotearoa’s outdoor conditions. We finish every frame in a durable, powder-coated Dark Green, inspired by our native forests.

    UV stabilised and weather protected. Our durable metal and plastic components have been UV-stabilised and weather-treated to help withstand the harsh Kiwi climate

  • Nope — no digging, concrete, or bolting required.

    Our Maaki Bars frames are freestanding, so they’re designed to be safely installed without needing to concrete them in.

    Our stability comes from a smart combo of:

    ● our unique frame design
    ● ground anchors / ground spikes
    ● stabiliser bars (model dependent)
    ● and the overall weight of the frame

    All of this works together to keep your Maaki Bars stable and secure — so it won’t tip when installed correctly, without needing concrete.

  • Absolutely. Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Each Maaki Bar is designed with smooth edges, secure fittings, and stable ground anchoring. When installed correctly, they’re built for years of safe, confident play.

  • Our range caters to tamariki of all ages and stages — from early climbers finding their balance to confident adventurers ready to swing and soar.

    • Heke: Perfect for younger tamariki or smaller spaces.
    • Kake & Piki: Great for growing kids and whānau play.
    • Rere: Best for confident climbers and big backyards.
  • Āe, definitely! Each Maaki Bar comes with easy-to-follow instructions and all the fittings you’ll need. Two adults can assemble most models in just a few hours — no special tools required.

  • Yes there should be some movement in the frame, but it should never be loose. If you are noticing excessive movement, ensure all the grub screws in the connectors are done up as tight as possible, they are designed to bite into the steel tubing. Don't be afraid of overtightening - the tighter the better! Also be sure to tighten all bolts.

  • Yes! We offer accessory options so you can add swings, rings, or other play features as your tamariki grow. We’re also happy to help you choose the perfect setup for your space and whānau needs.

  • A quick check every few months is all it takes - tighten bolts, check ground stability, and give the frame a rinse to remove dust or salt if you live near the coast. Built with premium materials, your Maaki Bar is made to last.

  • Yes! We ship nationwide. Delivery times vary depending on location, but we aim to get your Maaki Bar to you within 5–10 working days.

  • If you would like to save on shipping, you can pick up your order from our warehouse in Christchurch (Wigram). Pickups are not available at any other locations. Please see our Order Pickup page for full details and instructions.

  • For every Maaki Bar purchase you make, we will donate to Trees to Survival to fund the planting of one beautiful New Zealand native tree. Together, we’re giving back to te taiao, helping our land grow as our tamariki do.

  • Yes, all Maaki Bars include a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty covering materials and workmanship. We build them tough so your tamariki can play freely and safely for years to come.

  • Āe! Your Maaki Bar can be easily disassembled and reinstalled at your new place. Just keep your fittings and instructions handy, we’ll help your play space grow wherever life takes your whānau.

  • We are currently an online-only store and do not have a showroom. However, we hope to have a showroom or store in the future.

  • Our partners in China manufacture our playgrounds.  We are a 100% NZ family-owned business, and our products are all stocked in our warehouse in Christchurch.

  • We're sorry, all of our products are designed and tested for home/domestic use only. They are not meant for public playgrounds, schools, kindies, etc.
